If you like getting a few moments of extra sleep in the morning, than the Middle East is not for you. With the early morning call to the Islamic faithful sounding on speakers that go to eleven, the days begin early in this land of desert, mountains, ruins, and waterfalls.

      Pictures in this slide show range from the Turkey's Blue Mosque, Pamukale, Ephesus, and the now not so impressive "Temple of Artemis", whose lone column is all that is left of this wonder of the ancient world. In Syria you will see the oasis town of Palymra and a stunning theatre, and in Israel Masada, the inside of a Jerusalem church, and a desert waterfall oasis. And finally in Egypt you see classic ancient Egyptian ruins which include another wonder of the ancient world, the Great Pyramid at Giza.
